After seeing Mulholland Drive (my first Lynch film) I realized that I want some of the same elements in my films as Lynch did in that one (I'm talking about the cinematography, the darkness...blahblahblah) so I decided to watch Lost Highway (Blue Velvet and Eraserhead weren't in). Anyway, I got through the first 15 minutes before I turned off my VCR, scared out of my mind. I stopped at the part where Bill Pullman is talking to his (movie) wife about a dream he had about her the night before. Fog came from behind a doorframe and I did not want to see what was behind that door. Well, the point of this post is to ask all of you who HAVE seen Lost Highway to tell me what the HELL is behind that doorframe. Thank you all a lot!

EXCUSE ME? I did not ask you your opinion of me. I am entitled to be scared of this movie if I am so inclined. So, please don't insult me because it only reflects poorly on you.

Gee, I don't seem to remember what was behind the door either. Then again, I don't remember too much other then seeing my old neighborhood in one scene.
Anyway, if you thought Lost Highway was scary, that's noting compared to how you'le feel about blue Velvet- or that matter- EraserHead. Not only are they two of the finest movies ever made, but their the Pinnacle of Lynches best work. As well as The ElephantMan.

SmokescreenProdsGirl: Don't listen to Davis. I myself was scared during some moments of Lost Highway. Perhaps scared isn't the word...how about unnerved. And I love being unnerved while watching a movie. But you may not want to waste your time with Lost Highway-- it's one of Lynch's lesser films. Do as seekaee says- Definitely see Eraserhead, the ElephantMan, etc., but try to accept the fear as part of the experience, as how Lynch wants you to feel. Bite a bullet and trust our friend David.

A waste of your time that you will never, ever get back. You must be seven years old if you're scared by that movie. It's crap, through and through.

SmokescreenProds Girl: Why have you returned at a time when the forum is falling apart at the scenes?

I was digging through my videos yesterday and I came across Lost Highway. I nearly watched it but I wasn't in the mood for Lynch. I'll watch it soon and get back to you...

If one is afraid to watch a movie because it is scary, how can one ever make a movie?
Wouldn't that be like a surgeon being afraid of an open wound?
